Celebration: An Infant's Gardens Of Glass

infant

An Infant's Gardens Of Glass was composed as a gift for Augustus Conn-BouBou, the son of Bobby Conn & Monica BouBou. Monica, fwiw, may be the most beautiful woman who has ever graced the earth. And I'm not just talking about her stunning physical beauty, her soul was sent down to earth because God was jealous that she was getting all the attention in heaven. Straight up.

For many years around the turn of the century The MVM composed pieces unique for each infant that popped into our lives. These included the children of Geoff, Guru, Monica, Stel and many others. With the exception of An Infant's Gardens Of Glass, these were all released as editions of one, and given to the baby as a welcome to the flesh gift. Augustus received one copy of this disc. As usual, the other six... Well, we don't know.

The idea behind the Music For Newborns series came from our friend Guru. In the mid-90s he had his first child. After reading that babies find white noise soothing, he began putting a tape by our defunct noise band, CDC, on loop play in his daughters room each evening. And, believe it or not, he found that it led to far fewer sleepless nights. As a bonus, the tape he and his baby loved totally skeezed out his wife.

What musician wouldn't be thrilled to know that his music soothes infants and frightens adults?

First Garden - Sirens Of Glass
Second Garden - Mother Of Glass
Third Garden - Lullaby
