UDV: Not I

A Voice She Did Not Recognize

Not I

On view inside a pedestal is documentation from the live multi-media performance by UDV of Not I. It was performed as part of Styptic And The MVM Present at The Off-market Theatre in December. It will be revived it in July.

Installed in a video pedestal, Not I will rarely be experienced in its totality, it is forty minutes long. However, UDV does not necessarily exist to be experienced in totality. Their work exists over vast tracts of time. They succeed not by drawing an audience in for ten or twenty or seventy or a thousand minutes. They succeed by becoming furniture music and existing at the periphery of conscious over long periods of time.
